During the MentalPro Clinic’s Open House, we were delighted to welcome our guests, meet them in person, answer their questions, and host a series of free lectures by our specialists.
Five lectures were held throughout the day, each focusing on an important topic.
Is it possible to be friends with anxiety? Psychologist Anastasia explained that anxiety isn’t the enemy, but rather an important signal from our mind. Participants learned how anxiety affects thoughts, emotions, and behavior; why it can lead to both avoidance and destructive ways of coping with stress; and why it’s so important to first learn to regulate your state and only then look for the causes of anxiety.
Doctor, what if the pills don't help me? Psychiatrist Nina Shakel debunked common myths about medication. During the lecture, she discussed the role of medication in treating anxiety and depressive disorders, why modern medications are a safe treatment option, and why effective therapy always relies on cooperation between the patient and the doctor.
The path out of the pit of depression Psychologist Marina devoted her lecture to the topic of depression. Participants learned about its most common symptoms, how depression can manifest itself not only emotionally but also through a person’s physical condition, and why a combination of psychotherapy and medication is considered one of the most effective treatments.
The tolerance window: why it’s important to understand your state Solvita introduced the audience to the concept of the tolerance window—a state in which our nervous system is able to effectively cope with stress. The lecture explored the signs of moving outside the window of tolerance and practical ways to return to emotional balance through grounding, mindfulness, and self-regulation techniques.
Psychological allergies and our shadow sides Anita spoke about how our strengths can become sources of difficulty if they become too pronounced. The lecture focused on understanding our own shadow sides, finding inner balance, and treating ourselves with greater care.
We’d like to thank everyone who came to the Open House, asked questions, shared their thoughts, and helped create such a warm atmosphere with us.
If you weren’t able to attend in person or would like to watch the presentations you enjoyed again, recordings of all the lectures are available in our Instagram @mentalpro.clinicunder “Saved Live Streams.”
